Tickets for the City’s of Oldsmar’s 2016 Centennial Concert will go on sale online at noon on Thursday, June 9, according to Oldsmar100 committee chair Dan Saracki.

The show, featuring members of legendary rock groups Journey, Blue Oyster Cult, John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band and Kansas, is scheduled for Saturday, October 1, from 5:00-10:00 p.m. at Tampa Bay Downs.

Saracki said ticket prices would range from $25 for general admission seats to $500 for a field box containing 8 seats, and he urged those who are interested in attending to act fast, as centennial committee officials decided to cap ticket sales at 5,000 in order to maintain control of the event.

“We didn’t want to make any money off the event, and we didn’t want it to get too crazy,” Saracki said after Tuesday night’s council meeting, where the five council members unanimously approved the licensing agreement with Tampa Bay Downs, which agreed to lease the property to the city for $1.00 for the event.

“We want everyone to have a good time, and we think the $25 cost for general admission seats will help the tickets sell very quickly.”

Pricing for the boxes, which include 8 seats and 8 drink tickets, will cost $500 for the first row, $400 for second row, $300 for third row, and $250 for the fourth row, Saracki said.

The 3,940 general admission seats and floor seats, which feature limited bench seating, are located behind the box seats, and will sell for $25.00 each.

Saracki said he hopes the show, which cost $50,000 to produce, caps off the city’s yearlong run of centennial celebrations in spectacular fashion.

“We wanted to keep the cost low so people could afford to attend what should be a terrific show,” he said. “And I don’t think we’re going to have any problem selling these tickets!”
